Rothenburg

This has to be the coolest city in Germany!  It is a fortified city and some of the walls date back to 1390!!  There are 5 towers and you can walk the wall around the whole city.  You really get a medival feeling when crossing from "new" into "old".  Our hotel was built in 1408 and was just off the main town square.  We spent the day discovering Rothenburg on foot.  This town is famous for Christmas shops, so we went into one.  Our sites included climbing the belltower, St. Jacob's Church, the Craftsmen Museum (in the oldest building-over 700 years old!!), The Imperial City Dungeon, St. John's Church, various streets and wall portions, and a night walk around the town.
