Romantic Road Day 1

Greetings from the Romantic Road!  I really did not get the reason the Germans named this "Romantic".  It is mostly farmland and quaint villages, but I guess romance is all in your perspective.  The villages are very cute; each having a little church with a wonderful clock/bell tower and all neat as a pin.  Our first stop was the Wieskirche where we witnessed an elderly couple renewing their wedding vows.  Another couple was preparing for their wedding, too.  Next was a church in Rottebuch.  Then we went to Schongau and saw the Saint Mary's church.  Next was Landsberg where Hitler was imprisoned.  We briefly stopped in Augsberg, but it was getting very late so we only saw one church.  It would be so easy to spend a couple of weeks just driving this road, and we only did part of it!  We finally made it to Rothenberg to our 600 year old hotel after 8:00.  These did not upload in order so bear with me!
