Evergreen Air Museum

Sadly we had to leave the coast.  On our way back to Portland, we stopped at the Evergreen Air Museum.  It is home to Howard Hughes' Spruce Goose-a massive vehicle built between 1942-47 mostly of wood, cost over $25 million, and only flew one mile.  There were several other planes in the hanger with it.  There was also a hanger devoted to space travel.  The third building on site is a water park with a 747 on the roof.  Slides actually start in the plane!  It was a really fun side trip!
